The History Channel's

Save Our Sounds

just aired.

Good show.

Noteable speakers: Pete Seeger, Mickey Hart, and David Crosby.
The bulk of the show was about the need for preservation and the actual restoration process
being done on historic recordings since the beginning of recorded sound.
This is in conjunction with the Smithsonian Institute.

Crosby anecdote - he tells of how Fred Neil taught him how all sounds were music.
He heightened David's awareness about listening to sounds.
ie: Fred taught him this, as they rode in a wricketty elevator in NYC, and listened
to the sounds of it clinking and clanking as it travelled up and down the building.

Graham Nash record review inside the December 2002 issue of

Pages 20-21 by Roy Abrams

He rated it 4 stars * * * * = Great

Songs for Survivors is the fifth solo album from GRAHAM NASH and the latest contribution to a career
spanning more than four decades. The singer/songwriter, who celebrated his 60th birthday last February,
possesses a voice that seems immune to the ravages of time. From the energetic opening track,
"Dirty Little Secret," to the gentle closer, "Come With Me," Nash displays all the traits that have endeared
him to fans throughout the years - beginning, as always, with the song.

Of the 10 tracks included here, nine were written or co-written by Nash; the tenth is a brilliant version of
Richard and Linda Thompson's "Pavanne." "Dirty Little Secret" is a powerful indictment of the mass
racially motivated slaughter of African Americans in Greenwood, Oklahoma, in 1921.
"Lost Another One" reflects upon friends and colleagues that have self-destructed along the way.

The vivid poetry of "The Chelsea Hotel" is accompanied by stunner harmonies between Nash and old pal
David Crosby; as strong of a song as anything these two have ever done together. "Liar's Nightmare"is
perhaps the most different song Nash has written to date - written while in the hospital recuperating from
an operation.

Songs for Survivors is a must-have for any fan.

Inside Connection

is an interview with

former Stone

BILL WYMAN

(Wyman - friend of Stills, who co-wrote the Manassas song "Love Gangster,")

Here is a excerpt from the article, which can be found on pages 24 & 64

"Wyman is always quick to point out the influence others have had on him. He talked about how

hearing Willie Dixon playing bass backwards on "Smokestack Lightning," was such a revelation.

Wyman also had much praise for Donald "Duck" Dunn of Booker T and the MG's, with whom he has

become "great mates." 'Duck Dunn is the best bass player to follow because of the simplicity,' he stated.
