Comments: Stephen Stills is truely one of the greatest artists; he spans both generations + music styles. With his 'cuban blue grass' influences, fans can simply not wait for another realease from this thought mill - if not for his music & heartful delivery; for something 'rebelistic' about Stephen Still's music, such as 'Tree Top Flyer' a song about a smuggler who must fly just above the treetops to avoid radar detection. I have a great love for Stephen Stills and his music, now 26 I have listened to his music since I was about 14. Such a young age, and past the 60's to be a huge CSNY fan, but truely I enjoy the refreshing musical genius of Stills & CNY - and I had began to listen to the album 'Manassas' a total work of ART, musically. Impressed, I began to seek out other Stephen Stills albums, and found blues, rock, bluegrass, and other influences in his albums. All are masterpieces. Stephen Stills 'Alone' is also among my Stills titles that I guard with my very exsistance. My hat goes off to one of the last, TRUE rock composers. Stephen Stills, keep on making music because I can't find too many others who ARE (making MUSIC, that is). Hats off to the fan who made this site too - Long may you run!

Comments: For what it's worth is my favorite song. Could anyone tell me what the first two lines actually refer to? I know it was a protest on Sunset but was the "somethin happenin" referring to the people joining together to protest and take a stand or to the police or to the tension between the two groups? Been dyin to know.

Comments:Hey Jos [previous poster from the Netherlands , and any other European Stephen Stills fans]Don't know if this will make you feel better or worse[makes me feel worse when I remember it] I think SS and band toured Europe in 1980 or 81. [?] I was living in Munich in Germany ie not too far from Holland during this time and I'm pretty sure I remember seeing a poster advertising a Stephen Stills and Band concert tour at that time. No, I didn't attend [sob!] because a]it may have been snowing that night.b] I was without much money c] I had an argument with my German girlfriend that day d] I'm stupid and I've regretted not going ever since.
Does anybody else in that part of the world remember that tour? and[if they did get it together to go to the concert could they tell Jos and myself what we missed out on?

Comments:About 35 years I must be, no: I am the biggest Stephen Stills fan from Holland. It's a pity we never saw Stephen as a solo performing artist here - perhaps in 2005? Anyhow, the voice, the guitar and last but not least the man made my life richer in many ways. Thanks, Stephen, and congratulations with your 60th anniversary on the 3th of January. And... carry on!

Comments: Hey Stephen,Just thought you might enjoy this little story. In about 1993 Cornell Dupree did a small club tour here and I got to meet and hang out with him. On his night off we were sharing a bottle of his favourite "Dewars" scotch and sitting at a table in a club digging a local group of musicians . Naturally, I was asking him about all his sessions etc. and generally talking music.Sometime during the evening the subject of " Love the One you're with came up" [ he played on Aretha's recorded version and in concert.I said" Stephen Stills wrote that"and he sort of looked quizical and went "naaaah".I said "Really, he did" and Cornell went "Hmmm, OK" We were both feeling pretty good by this time and I'd been hanging out with him for several nights so I felt confident enough by that point to say to him "You see, us white boys can get down on occasion" and he nodded his head and laughed.

Comments:I just wanted to let all the Stephen Stills fans know that there has been a CD released of Stephen's Columbia era stuff called "Turnin back the pages ".It is a compilation of 3 LPs from the 70s on one CD. It was compiled by an Australian guy, Glenn A. Baker who is officially "Rock brain of the Universe" so the track selection and liner notes are excellent. It is available from Amazon.

Comments:I've been reading through all of the posts and I must say that I'm pleased to see so many fans contributing. Stephen, you rock. What more can I say? I think that says it all. I've seen "the group" twice (one of those times was with Neil) and I'm completely amazed. You just keep getting better. You have a great gift and you have been a great inspiration to many of us with your music and lyrics. You do have a passion and a sincerity that nobody seems to have anymore. We love you. Don't ever change. May you always CARRY ON.
